After a disappointing postponement due to COVID-19 in 2020, the Global Cup World Senior Volleyball Championships is scheduled to take place August 25 – 30, 2021. The beautiful sea-side city of Loutraki will continue to be the venue for this prestigious, invitation-only tournament. Teams will also continue to represent their home country with only one team per nation allowed in the tournament, but there are a few changes that athletes will want to know.
First and foremost, the 50+ age group has been added so that Greece will host men’s and women’s teams in the 40+, 45+, 50+, 55+ and 60+ age groups. This brings all the available age groups to one location for 2021.
Second, the Global Cup is committed to providing a safe environment for all players, coaches, spectators and the community of Loutraki and has compiled a comprehensive COVID-19 Health Protocol in collaboration with Greek health authorities. Athletes should familiarize themselves with the protocol.
